Each year on February 22, girls participate in activities and projects with global themes to honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in other countries. It is a special day in the Girl Scout year when we remember we are part of a worldwide movement. World Thinking day is part of the world Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Global Action Theme, based on the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which aim to improve the lives of the world's poorest people. The theme of World Thinking Day 2016 is "Connect!" On this day, let's explore and celebrate meaningful connections that make our lives better, whether to the people closest to us, to a place we care about, or to a Girl Guide or Girl Scout Friend on the other side of the world. 2" round sew-on photo patch.

It is a special day in the Girl Scout year when we remember we are part of a worldwide movement. The theme of World Thinking Day 2017 is "Grow". This year we would like Girl Scouts and Girl Guides to explore, stretch, and take on new challenges—and celebrate what it means to be part of the global sisterhood that is Girl Scouts + Girl Guides. 2" round sew-on photo patch.

Girl Scout Sunday, Girl Scout Sabbath and Girl Scout Shabbat are all religious observance patches celebrating the rich diversity of belonging. Each patch gives girls an opportunity to attend their place of worship and be recognized as a Girl Scout. If a place of worship is the group sponsor, girls may perform a service, such as greeting, ushering, or doing a flag ceremony. These days can also be a time when girls explore other faiths. Girl Scout week is celebrated each March, starting with Girl Scout Sunday and ending with Girl Scout Sabbath on a Saturday, and it always includes the Girl Scout Birthday, March 12. Girl Scout Birthday, March 12, commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization's first 18 girl members in Savannah, Georgia. (Shabbat is the Hebrew word for Sabbath. It is a lexicon used within the Jewish community, rather than Sabbath, which is not used. However, Girl Scout Sabbath will continue to be offered to anyone whose day of observance is on a day other than Sunday). In 2015, Girl Scout Week begins Sunday, March - Saturday, March .
